A New Zealand road trip stop was Mt. Cook on the South Island. It was a beautiful summer day and the skies were very clear, leading to a nice, clear, view of the peak. We were even able to see the mountain from quite far away when driving towards it. After having been there, we were told that we had been very lucky as the mountain is almost always hidden behind clouds and fog.
